Gene Tangren - former guitarist/bassist/vocalist for the Amphetamine Reptile bands Vertigo and Silver Salute. Also played with and was featured in such Minneapolis/Paris-based bands as Vector, Tin Foot Dog, Technique Niquee and the Mr. Syd Blues Band.
Mike Nehl - former child. Would have liked to have been in bands such as Panda Lou, Debt Monger and Chimney Goat if they had ever existed…
Life-long friends, Gene and Mike became neighbors in their grade school years and grew up trying to out-do each other in all things imaginable. The tradition continues to this day with the Grackle sound.

Grackle combines traditional rock instruments such as eclectic guitar, vase and percolators. And, from there it only gets more interesting. Animal voices mingling with industrial clatter, weird percussion joined by red-shift ukulele and alien horns.
