In a secretly taped conversation, President George W. Bush seemingly admits marijuana use. “Do you want your little kid to say: ‘Hey daddy, President Bush tried marijuana, I think I will?'” he states in a secretly taped conversation. The secret recordings were made by Doug Wead, former advisor to George H.W. Bush, while George 'Dubya' was still only considering a run for the White House. Wead had been writing a book about George W. Bush and claims that his publisher insisted on reviewing the tapes to confirm anonymous sources referenced in the book. It wasn't long after that the New York Times learned of the tapes and broke the story. Marijuana was not the only drug referenced in the taped conversations. “It doesn’t matter if it’s LSD, cocaine, pot, any of those things, because if I answer one, then there will be another one. And I just am not going to answer those questions. And it may cost me the election.” This is not the first time George W. Bush was suspected of having previously used cocaine (see Cocaine George? , 1999). This is however, the first hint that George may have possibly taken LSD in his youth. Responding to the surfacing of the taped conversations, a Whitehouse spokesperson did not dispute their authenticity, but instead responded, “These were casual conversations with someone whom the President considered, or believed to be, a friend,”
