Many of the people who visit this site for the first time may think to themselves, “ah, this here's one of them there Web sites about DRUGS!!! I bet it shows kids how to get high!#%@!”
Fact is, you can get quite high on many of the entheogens. But the purpose of this Web site is to illustrate how important the plant entheogens have been, and continue to be. Some of these plants and compounds have only been used recently, while others have been in use for thousands of years. These are plants which are used for religious purposes...the term religious extending to personal self-discovery, and the religious nature of the psychedelic experience.
We must take the plants which facilitate these experiences out of the realm of “drugs.” In South American, many thousands of normal, middle-class people take part in religious experiences in which they drink a hallucinogenic mixture of two plants. This brew is not looked at as a drug, but rather an elixir.
If you came to this Web site looking for drugs, or ways to get high, you may as well go elsewhere. If you came to learn, with an open mind and open heart, then we welcome you to our community with open arms. Respect!
