Today the report on ABC news was that presidential hopeful George W. Bush may have been a cocaine user in the early seventies. Senator Orrin Hatch even commented that if Bush did use cocaine, then he should admit it and be done with it. Bush was asked if he could pass the federal standard guidelines for upper level security clearance. He responded that he could. He was then asked if he could have passed such a clearance when his father was president. Again, he responded that he could. But when he was asked about the period of time before (From 1974 when he was twenty - eight years old and the period of time before that.) his response was a complete refusal to talk about the issue. His only response was to say that “...I made some mistakes when I was younger.”
