I know alot of people are probably wondering what happened... apparently Speciosa has decided to shut down their kratom-related forum indefinately. This is most likely in part a result of some incidents that occurred recently... does everybody know about this already? If not I'll elaborate...

I believe it's purely cautionary but a smart thing to do. You can't be too cautious. TTC can explain.

Ok I should've just posted it publicly right from the start... my bad. Anyways, here's the just of it:

The incidents I was refferring to were that some packages coming into the US from Canada were held up by customs. What apparently happened was, when Speciosa took their vacation, alot of their customers ordered from a canadian vendor. The US Customs noticed the sharp increase in shipments from this vendor to the US, and flagged a few packages to be held. A few of the packages contained 250x extract... apparently the FDA took a look at the 250x and decided they don't want it around for whatever reason... so they returned all 250x-containing packages to Canada. The packages that did not contain 250x were, apparently, released to the recipients. No charges have been filed or anything, just some hold-ups at customs. The canadian vendor is now apparently refusing to ship to the US anymore.

About a week before this, a moderator of another forum had a domestic package opened by the USPS... they asked her a few quick questions about what kratom is used for, and promptly released the package to her.

Speciosa has decided to close down KF... and it seems to be permanently. A member of another forum posted this email from Speciosa regarding the subject:

active. As you know Kratom is not sold for human consumption and for
research purposes only. Kratomforum.com was a free user moderated forum
that could potentially have put the Kratom market in peril due to the
misunderstanding by some of the statements on the board - so, given the
choice between endangering the Kratom market vs. turning Kratom Forum
over to the broader community, we chose the latter option. We are
devastated that the choice had to be made between the forum and the
safety of the Kratom market, but since we were forced to choose, we
chose the safety of the Kratom market. Thank you for your support and
understanding!

I wanted to jump on EDOT and post of this because the KF was so abruptly closed, I know there will be numerous ppl who are left clueless.

I had a feeling that this would happen. As much as I loved kratomforum.com, maybe it is for the best. I do not want kratom to go away. It has helped me so much lateley.

well im a bit torn about this. there are some really great people at kratomforum, and i know it has helped many many people get thru some tough addictions. however i must say that i have some SERIOUS problems with the moderation there. it is the most close-minded community ive encountered. say ANYTHING that a mod doesnt like and it will simply be removed. ive spoken my mind there many times, only to have myt posts removed and then receive a nasty message from a mod. to be honest i find the whole mindset there to be unconducive to open and intelligent discussion. they allow for only one point of view to be expressed because they are so afraid that if the "wrong thing" is said about kratom, even if it is true, it will cause the banning of kratom. i dont know, that has been my experience there. lots of good people, but sitfling mods.

Do you expect a forum about a product sold by the company it was associated with to be open to intelligent uncensored discussion? Come on! Any time you go to a forum which started from the company selling the products that the forum is about, your discussion is gonna be limited to what they want to see, and lots of time purely limited to THEIR PRODUCTS, and you will see favoritism to those who post favorable reviews. I never shop with a vendor knowing who I am, only one vendor does, I don't want preferential, or bad for that matter-hehe, treatment from any vendor and I like to see how they treat the average joe.. And I will tell you that most of those companies that people rave about don't treat the average joe who doesn't post in forums the same as someone who does. That's why I stick with a few choice vendors unless there is no other option. No free discussion at websites like that. So stick around and use the search engine whenever possible.

O.M.G. your not kidding. You could just watch the posts disappear all day long.
Since it was run by Speciosa, "which just happens to sell the strongest extracts" they only allowed what they wanted.

Kratom in it's leaf form is a wonderful thing, the extracts change everything.
